The Concept

There's a place in every restaurant most people never see. It's called the pass — where the chef puts the last hand on every plate before it leaves the kitchen. It's also where most of their story lives.

My mom was a chef, and my earliest memories are of her cooking. I've believed for as long as I can remember that truly great food goes beyond flavor — it's story, memory, connection.

Shows like Knife Edge and Chef's Table capture that beautifully, but only for a small handful of already-famous kitchens. Around The Pass exists to document the rest — the thousands of chefs and restaurants around the world doing quiet, uncompromising work. Cinematic, short-form videos that go beyond the plate—capturing the chef’s “why,” the choices behind the dish, and the heartbeat of the room. One meaningful collaboration at a time.
